Balcony solar estimator
Choose your state and the way your balcony faces. Drag across the sky to turn it. The numbers use the same model as the app, with your state's average sunshine and electricity price.

What this estimate leaves out
- Shade. Trees, the building across the street and the balcony above you. The app scans the skyline with your camera and includes it.
- Your exact spot. We use a point in the middle of your state. The app uses your location and reads the railing's real direction and tilt from the phone's sensors.
- Your bill. Savings count only the power used at home: about 60% for an 800 W kit, less for bigger ones (power sent to the grid usually earns nothing). Priced at the state's average rate; change it above if yours differs.
Model: hourly sun position, Hay–Davies sky model and NASA POWER monthly sunshine, calibrated against NREL PVWatts v8 at 10 U.S. cities (average difference 6%). Output is capped at your state's power limit. Shown as a ±12% range in the app.
