Short version: the app has no account, and your location, camera and measurements never leave your phone.

The Sunperch app
What stays on your device
- Location. Used to find your state and the sunshine for your area. It is processed on the device. To name your state, iOS may look up your coordinates with Apple's geocoding service; Sunperch does not send them anywhere else.
- Camera. Used for sun calibration and the shade scan. Images are not saved or uploaded; only the skyline angles are kept.
- Motion and compass. Used to read the panel's direction and tilt.
- Your measurements, reports and letters. Saved on the device. You decide whether to share a PDF.
What the app downloads
At most once a week, the app downloads the public regulation file at sunperch.app/data/state_laws.json. The request contains no personal data, identifiers or measurements.
Purchases
Pro is bought through Apple. We receive no payment details. Apple tells the app whether Pro is unlocked.
Analytics
If we turn on analytics, it will be a privacy-focused service that counts anonymous steps (for example "measurement completed") with no advertising identifiers, no tracking across apps and no personal data. We will update this page first.
This website
- No cookies and no advertising trackers. Your language choice is remembered only in your own browser.
- The estimator runs entirely in your browser; nothing you enter is sent to us.
- If you join a notify list, we keep your email address, the state, the topic and the language you chose, only to send that one email. Every message lets you unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
- Fonts and scripts are served from this site; no third-party services load when you browse it.
Children
Sunperch is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
Your choices and contact
You can turn off location or camera access in iOS Settings and enter values by hand instead. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored. Questions or deletion requests: support@sunperch.app.
